Boosts

A Boost is what you spend each time you ask Cryptic Boost to work through a clue. Everyone starts with a pack of free Boosts, and the number you have left is always shown at the top of the page.

Why are Boosts limited?

Working out a cryptic clue takes a surprising amount of computing power, and computers cost money to run. Limiting Boosts lets us keep Cryptic Boost going for everyone, and keeps it fair, so a few heavy users can't use it all up.

When is a Boost used?

Only when you get an answer. If something goes wrong, if what you entered isn't a clue, or if we aren't confident enough in our answer to stand behind it, your Boost is kept.
